Wicca

Introduction

Wicca is a pagan religion 1. The adherents of the religion call themselves wiccans. This places it within group of religions which are nature revering. In many religions, practices and believes can change drastically, whilst still holding onto the main tenets. There are many denominations of wicca, which will be explored in this guide, however nearly all of them share the same basis of the original, that being Gardnarian Wicca.

Wicca is one of the major western pagan religions, enough to have hit the radar on a rather undisciplined 2001 UK Census tick list (ie. Others). This particular religion is probably the most well recognised of the pagan religions and features in many aspects of literature, film and television of the late 20th and the early 21st centuries.
